June 1st, 2025 was the kind of wedding day you dream about — sunny skies, a gorgeous setting, and two people so clearly meant for each other. Erica and Johan were married at The Club at Corazón in Dublin, Ohio, surrounded by vibrant florals, heartfelt traditions, and all their favorite people.

The morning kicked off with Erica and her team getting ready in matching green sweatsuits, popping champagne and soaking up every moment. Johan and his groom team were getting ready nearby. Something I loved about their wedding is how true to themselves they made it. Instead of having traditional bridesmaids and groomsmen, they had mixed wedding parties. We referred to them as “Team Bride” and “Team Groom” throughout the day. More couples are leaning into this kind of personalized, intentional planning, and I’m here for it!
Once hair and makeup were done, Erica slipped into her absolutely breathtaking La Jeune Mariee gown. It had a detailed bodice, flowing train, and cathedral-length veil. In a hilarious (and honestly impressive) twist, Johan had actually guessed which gown she’d chosen just based on knowing the designer and bridal shop! He didn’t see it until the ceremony, of course, but he somehow just knew which one it would be. If that doesn’t say “meant to be,” I don’t know what does! Erica’s mom helped her into the dress, and when Erica saw herself in the mirror, she got a little teary. That, of course, made her mom emotional too. It was such a tender, quiet moment between the two of them.
From there, Erica did a first look with her bride team, and it was so full of excitement and happy gasps. Everyone was floored by how incredible she looked! Her nephew, Roran, (who took his ring bearer duties very seriously!) came in right afterward and ran straight into her arms with a big hug.
Before the ceremony, we took time for separate family portraits and individual wedding party photos. Since Erica and Johan chose not to do a first look, we photographed everything we could separately before the ceremony.
Their ceremony took place outdoors overlooking the lake with bright florals lining the aisle and arranged on modern white pedestals. The natural scenery at Corazón already speaks for itself, but the floral design added such a perfect pop of color. Johan’s emotional reaction to seeing Erica walk down the aisle was so genuine, and little Roran made everyone laugh as he marched down the aisle with the rings.
Their officiant, led a beautiful ceremony that included personal vows and a heartfelt speech by Erica’s sister.
As they exited the ceremony, guests tossed dried flower petals into the air — one of my favorite modern alternatives to confetti — and Erica and Johan shared a joyful dip kiss as they walked back up the aisle. Afterward, we took large family portraits, including extended family members who had traveled in from Sweden on Johan’s side.
Then we had a moment to celebrate with their wedding party and do some dreamy newlywed portraits.
The reception was held in the bright, airy ballroom, filled with sunlight and more of those vibrant florals repurposed from the ceremony. Their sweetheart table was flanked by long tables for their wedding party. Floral arrangements spilling across the front tables and the white pedestals repurposed as part of the design. Everything felt so cohesive, elegant, and intentional.
Their travel-themed seating chart, “Where in the World are you Sitting?”, featured tables named after places around the world. The perfect way to tie in their shared love of travel and international connections.
Another special detail: Erica created a scrapbook filled with their photos together, which doubled as their guest book. Guests could flip through memories and leave their own handwritten notes on the extra pages — a heartfelt keepsake they’ll treasure forever.
They entered the reception with big smiles and a kiss, greeted by cheers from their guests. Embracing a Swedish tradition, Johan’s close friend Isaac served as their Toastmaster, guiding the flow of the evening with humor, warmth, and a few fun surprises along the way.
One of the most meaningful moments during the reception came early: Johan’s dad surprised the couple with a musical performance. He played guitar while a family member sang a beautiful rendition of At Last. It was emotional in the best way! Erica and Johan shared a kiss at the end, clearly touched by the moment.
The rest of the evening flowed with toasts from Johan’s brother and best man, Erica’s best friend and maid of honor, and another speech from Erica’s sister.
They transitioned into another space for cake cutting and their choreographed first dance — which was absolutely stunning. Erica’s gown flowed beautifully with every turn and spin.
They followed it with a combined parent dance, with Erica and her dad and Johan and his mom dancing at the same time. It was such a sweet way to honor both sides!
Their live band brought the energy up and kept the dance floor full, and guests also enjoyed a floral-backed photo booth with Polaroids and props.
They also had a beautifully styled dessert table featuring treats from The Chocolate Cafe. It even included chocolate-covered strawberries designed to look like little brides and grooms, complete with tuxedo details and pearl accents. Not only were they adorable, but they were so delicious and added a fun, whimsical touch to the celebration.
Right around sunset, Erica and Johan snuck away with me for a few more portraits. The Tuscan-inspired architecture, checkered terrace, and lakeside views made the perfect romantic backdrop for their final portraits as newlyweds.
From beginning to end, Erica and Johan’s wedding was joyful, intentional, and full of heart. Not a single detail was overlooked. Every element, from the florals to the attire to the sweet personal touches, reflected their impeccable taste and thoughtful planning! It was such an honor to photograph a day so full of meaning, beauty, and love.
