Book Loft and German Village Engagement Photos in Columbus, Ohio

If you’re looking for a cozy, romantic location for engagement photos in Columbus, it’s hard to beat the charm of the Book Loft and German Village. Between the winding brick streets, historic homes, neighborhood coffee shops, and one of the most beloved bookstores in Ohio, this area creates the perfect backdrop for couples who love a mix of timeless romance and playful personality!

Lexie and Margo’s engagement session was the perfect example of that.

From the moment we started exploring the aisles of the Book Loft, their connection was effortless. They have the sweetest relationship and share a love for books, cozy spaces, and spending time together, so choosing this location felt like it was made just for them. Every part of the session felt romantic, joyful, and fun all at once, which describes them perfectly.

How Lexie and Margo Met

Some love stories feel like they were meant to happen, even when everything seems to go off course.

Lexie and Margo met completely by accident at Miracle, a Christmas pop-up bar in Columbus. Lexie had originally planned to spend the evening at The Nutcracker at the Ohio Theatre, but after a series of unexpected mishaps, she and her friends ended up at Miracle instead. At the same time, Margo was only working that night because she had picked up a shift for a friend whose staff had come down with COVID.

When Margo became Lexie’s server, an enthusiastic compliment about Margo’s shoes after a couple of festive drinks sparked an instant connection. Before Lexie could give Margo her number in person, Margo’s shift had already ended. So Lexie left her phone number on the receipt with the note, “I like your shoes.”

The rest is history.

Why the Book Loft and German Village Are Perfect for Engagement Photos

The Book Loft is one of my favorite engagement session locations in Columbus because of how cozy and intimate it feels. Whether you’re a lifelong reader, love exploring local neighborhoods, or simply want photos that feel unique, this area has so much variety.

For Lexie and Margo, it couldn’t have been more fitting. We wandered through the bookstore, explored the charming streets of German Village, and created photos that felt natural, joyful, and full of genuine connection. The brick sidewalks, ivy covered buildings, and quiet corners gave us endless opportunities for romantic portraits while still leaving room for plenty of playful moments.

Ending the Session at Club 185

To finish the evening, we stopped by Club 185, one of Lexie and Margo’s frequented spots.

I always love when couples include a place that is meaningful to their relationship because it makes the experience feel even more personal. We captured a few final photos before sitting down together to chat, celebrate, and get even more excited for everything that’s ahead.

Looking Ahead to Their Strongwater Wedding

One of the best parts about engagement sessions is getting to know my couples before their wedding day, and spending the evening with Lexie and Margo made me even more excited for their celebration at Strongwater Events!

Their engagement photos were also featured in Wed Society‘s “Looks of Love” contest, which was such a fun way to celebrate these two and the connection they share!

I already know their wedding day is going to be full of joy, laughter, meaningful moments, and so much love. If their engagement session is any indication, it’s going to be an unforgettable day, and I can’t wait to document every minute of it!
