A Wildly Sweet Wedding at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

Megan and Nathan’s Columbus Zoo and Aquarium wedding on June 20th, 2025, was full of love, emotion, and a little zoo magic — complete with giraffes, zebras, and some very sweet family moments. Their celebration was small, personal, and completely unforgettable.

A Meaningful Morning

The day started with Megan and Nathan getting ready in separate spaces, surrounded by close friends and family. Megan shared an incredibly emotional first look with her dad — a private moment full of love and tenderness.

She also spent the morning taking robe photos and enjoying some sweet getting-ready moments with the kids, including her daughter Corina. The vibe was calm, joy-filled, and intimate — just the way a wedding morning should be.

A Ceremony with a View

The wedding ceremony took place at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Africa Event Center, with an arch overlooking a breathtaking scene of giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and exotic birds peacefully roaming in the background. It was an absolutely magical setting — one of the most unique I’ve ever photographed.

Megan was walked down the aisle by her grandparents, which was such a touching tribute to their bond. And although her dad wasn’t able to physically attend due to health reasons, a guest video chatted him in so he could watch the ceremony live — a beautiful gesture that brought even more emotion to the moment.

One of the most memorable parts of the ceremony was the puzzle unity ceremony, which included Megan and Nathan’s daughter, Corina. It was a sweet way to honor their connection as a family.

Portraits, Giraffes, and Animal Encounters

After the ceremony, Megan and Nathan took a few quiet moments to soak it all in before we headed into wedding party and family portraits. Then came one of the day’s biggest highlights — giraffe feeding! Every guest had the chance to feed the giraffes, and the pure joy on everyone’s faces made it such a fun and unforgettable part of the celebration.

Megan, Nathan, and Corina also got to meet a few other animals up close and even had portraits taken with them. It was such a once-in-a-lifetime moment and made their wedding day all the more special.

Dancing into Golden Hour

The reception was filled with heartfelt toasts, a cozy dinner, and a trio of sweet dances. Megan and Nathan had their first dance, followed by Nathan dancing with his mom, and then with Corina — a moment that was as adorable as it was meaningful.

Once the dance floor opened up, the kids took over in the best way, busting moves with all the energy and joy you’d hope to see at a celebration like this. As the sun started to set, Megan and Nathan snuck out with me for a few golden hour portraits — quiet, glowy, and romantic.
