Kassie and Alex’s wedding day at Rivercrest Farm in Dover, Ohio was the perfect blend of timeless romance and joyful celebration—think Bridgerton meets 2025 garden party. Their love story is one that spans decades, and their wedding was truly a reflection of the deep connection they’ve shared since childhood.
Both Kassie and Alex were Army kids, stationed in the same place when they were young. They met in fifth grade and quickly became close friends. Years later, during college, Kassie FaceTimed Alex one evening—and they ended up talking all night long. That one call sparked the beginning of their romance, and from that moment on, their relationship blossomed into something extraordinary.
The weather kept everyone on their toes, fluctuating between sunshine and rain throughout the day. But rather than let it get in the way, Kassie and Alex embraced every drop. The love and joy between them—and their incredible wedding party—shined through no matter what the skies were doing.
They chose not to do a first look, saving the big reveal for the walk down the aisle. Alex’s emotional reaction was absolutely priceless—tears streaming, hands on his heart, completely overwhelmed by the moment.
Kassie also shared a meaningful first look with her dad, gifting him a custom tie featuring a childhood photo of the two of them. Her bridesmaids had their own first look too—and their excitement when they saw her was everything.
Their ceremony was deeply personal and family-centered. Alex’s dad held the cord of three for their braiding ceremony, and their mothers took part in a heartfelt ring warming ritual. Their grandmothers walked down the aisle with a little one, and both families were woven throughout the experience. Kassie and Alex read personal vows to one another—honest, funny, emotional—and not a single guest was left with dry eyes. After they were officially pronounced husband and wife, they celebrated with dip kisses down the aisle as guests tossed flower petals in the air.
The reception took place inside Rivercrest’s cozy barn, transformed into a whimsical garden party setting. From soft florals and romantic textures to long wooden tables and soft candlelight, the Bridgerton-inspired atmosphere was picture-perfect.
The grand entrance? Totally unforgettable. Kassie’s bridesmaids entered holding cardboard cutouts of Alex’s face, while the groomsmen followed with squirt guns. Kassie and Alex danced their way in, beaming with joy.
Toasts were meaningful and heartfelt. About five loved ones spoke, including a special welcome from Kassie’s dad and a touching, emotional recorded toast from Kassie’s brother-in-law, Daniel. Even though he couldn’t be there in person, his words carried so much love and connection.
Dinner was a taco bar (with queso—yes, please!) followed by a choreographed first dance that had everyone smiling. At the end of their dance, Alex dropped to one knee and proudly introduced Kassie as his wife—a moment that perfectly captured their love and playfulness. The father-daughter and mother-son dances added even more sweetness to the night, followed by an open dance floor full of laughter and energy.
During dinner and again later in the evening, I snuck Kassie and Alex out for some romantic portraits—once in the golden light, and once in the rain under an umbrella, where we had some fun with flash photography. Those quiet, just-the-two-of-them moments were a beautiful way to wrap up their wedding story.
It was such a gift to witness and capture this day. Kassie and Alex—thank you for trusting me to document your love story. You made magic in the rain, and your wedding was the perfect reflection of the joy, depth, and history you share.
